If you are like me, you are always looking for great books for your children to read. Heck, I’m just trying to get my kids to read anything just like the rest of the Moms out there! Luckily for me though, my kids really enjoy reading. I do have to get them to put down the electronics from time to time and read a “real” book! This is an award-winning chapter book series. They are historical fantasy books. In books 1-28 siblings Jack and Annie are sent on many adventures and missions around the world, by Morgan Le Fay, from their magical tree house. Book 29 starts the Merlin Missions. These next books consist of quests giving by Merlin the Magician and are longer than the previous books. Jack and Annie are occasionally joined by Kathleen and Teddy, two apprentices. Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

There are 12 books in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series with 4 additional books. These are realistic fiction books. This book series received the Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Book and Dorothy Canfield Fisher Children’s Book Award. Jeff Kinney is an American author and cartoonist. All the main books are journals of the main character, Greg Heffley. These books are written in a comic book format. The 4 additional books include: The Wimpy Kid Do-It-Yourself Book, The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary, The Wimpy Kid Movie: The Next Chapter and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Special Cheesiest Edition. This is a humorous children’s book series. These are realistic fiction books. Written in a diary format. With drawings and doodles in a comic strip. The main character is Nikki Maxwell. The Diaries chronicle life of Nikki Maxwell, who is based on Russell’s true life teenage daughters Erin and Nikki. The series has received two Children’s Choice Awards For Book of the Year (5th/6th Grade Division) and a Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Award nomination for Best Book. The Harry Potter series has been popular for quite some time now. Especially because there are movies of the books. The book series is recommended for ages 9-12 year olds. You may want to have them read it more towards 12 or 13 years old. There are a total of 7 books in this series. The novels chronicle the life of the young wizard Harry Potter and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. They attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
