Bread Machine – Why You Need One
Making Bread With a Bread Machine
Who doesn’t love the smell and taste of fresh bread? I would safely say, almost everyone. However, making it from scratch definitely comes at a cost. And I’m not talking about the kind of cost that hits you in the pocket book, but rather your time. Making bread from scratch takes a lot of time. Between the mixing, and kneading and time needed to let it rise. That is why I invested in a Bread Machine.
Why Get A Bread Machine?
First of all the Bread Machine does all the hard work for you. All you have to do is simply add all the ingredients into the bread pan, set your settings and push START! Let the machine work it’s magic and in a couple of hours you will enjoy the smell and taste of fresh bread without all the hassle.
Probably the two things I love most about my bread machine (after the obvious delicious tasting bread) are the stay warm feature and the delayed start. Say I have something unexpected come up and need to leave my house for a short time, I don’t have to worry about getting back in time to be able to take the loaf of bread out of the machine. The machine will automatically switch to a keep warm setting once the baking cycle has finished!
I love being able to use the delayed start feature for nights I know we will be gone to sports practice. I can set the timer to start making the bread at a certain time, so the bread is ready when we get home. And like I said before if we aren’t home at the exact time it finishes it won’t make a bit of difference because the bread will still be warm when we do get home.
Do you like to try different types of breads? Not a problem, you can make a number of speciality breads with a bread machine as well. Potato, Oatmeal, Rye, Sourdough, and French bread just to name a few. In addition to speciality breads you can add all sorts of mix-ins. Fruits, nuts, spices and even cheese.
Other Benefits To A Bread Machine
Luckily, for my family we do not have any food allergies. But there are many people who do. Gluten being a big one for bread lovers. When you use a bread machine you are able to pick and choose what type of ingredients work best for your specific diet. This can actually save you money, if you have to pay more at the grocery store for those expensive gluten free breads.
My bread machine actually makes other things besides just bread! Say What?? Yep, I can make bagel dough, pizza dough and pasta dough. Also, I can make jam. You read that right, JAM. I haven’t had the time to try these awesome features out, but you better believe I will.
While a bread machine can be a little bit of a bigger appliance, it by far is the easiest one of mine to clean. It comes with a removeable bread pan that can be easily wiped out or cleaned with warm soapy water. I don’t ever put this pan in the dishwasher, because 1. it isn’t recommended (there is a special coating on the pan) 2. My pan has never been dirty enough that I would even need to put it in the dishwasher. The lid of mine is also removeable to make cleaning easier.
Maybe you are hesitant to buy a bread machine because you think it’s going to be complicated. Nope, quite the opposite actually. There are step by step instructions on all of the recipes. Which comes with the machine. Easy to read buttons, and settings. I’m pretty confident that my kids would be able to make a loaf of bread by themselves using our bread machine. That is how easy they are to use.
No Cons Here
I’ve yet to find anything I don’t like about my bread machine. Some might say, I don’t have room for any more appliances on my counter. Although, I use my bread machine almost on a daily basis, I store it in a cupboard above my microwave. It takes no time at all to take it out, load with ingredients, and bake a loaf of bread. I wipe it down inside and out, when the bread is done and back in the cupboard it goes.
If you love the taste of fresh bread and want the convenience of making your own speciality breads. Definitely, look into getting yourself a bread machine. It has saved me time and money, all while giving me the luxury of fantastic tasting bread. The possibilities are endless when it comes to using a bread machine.
